| CBSE Class XII 2016 Topper: Palak Goel, Haryana Posted: 24 May 2016 12:05 AM PDT CBSE Class XII 2016 Topper: Palak Goel, Haryana A student of Tagore Vanasthali Public School, Pehowa, near Kurukshetra in Haryana, she scored 496 out of 500 marks. The third position was shared between Somy Uppal from St Theresa's Convent School in Karnal and Ajish Sekar from PSBB Senior Secondary School, Chennai. They both scored 495 marks. Speaking over phone, Palak Goel said,"I was confident of scoring 95 per cent. It was a bit of a surprise that I got 496 marks but I am very happy that my hard work paid off. I also want to become an IAS officer." Palak had non-medical subjects and she scored 100 per cent in physics, 99 per cent each in chemistry, mathematics, english and physical education, her mother Ranjana Goel said. Palak's mother is a housewife while her father Subhash Goel is a Commission Agent. Sharing more details about Palak, her mother said that she was a topper from nursery right till class 12th. | CBSE Class XII 2016 Topper: Ajish Sekar, Tamil Nadu Posted: 23 May 2016 11:13 PM PDT CBSE Class XII 2016 Topper: Ajish Sekar, Tamil Nadu Ajish scored 495 or 99% out of 500 and got full marks in this year's notoriously difficult mathematics paper, he also managed to get 99 in physics, chemistry and computer science exams, and 98 in English. "I'm ecstatic," the 17-year-old from PSBB Senior Secondary School in KK Nagar, who bagged the third rank in the country, says. "I knew I was going to do well, but I didn't expect this," Ajish, clearly still a little fazed at how well he did in this year's exams, beams. His mother Shanthi, whose broad smile hints at the excitement she feels, says he studies very hard. "But he also plays with his friends and is a fan of computer games - he commits to whatever he does 100%." "We were expecting something in the region of 485-490 marks. Not a national-level award!" explains his mother. "I like physics the best. But I want to follow computer science, like my dad," he says. Ajish's father Sekhar R, who is in Trichy, says he is confident that his son can achieve whatever he wants to. Palak Goel, who secured second position in CBSE class XII board examination, wants to become an IAS officer later in life, but at present her focus is to become an engineer and crack the IIT.
