Marking Scheme – Geography (Theory)

General Instructions:

1. The Marking scheme provides general guidelines to reduce subjectivity in the marking. The answer given in the marking Scheme are suggestive answers. The content is thus indicative. If a student has given any other answer which is different from the one given in the marking Scheme, but conveys the meaning, such answer should be given due weightage.

2. Evaluation is to be done as per instruction provided in the Marking Scheme. Marking Scheme should be strictly adhered to and religiously followed.

3. If a question has parts please award marks on the right hand side for each part. Marks awarded for different parts of the question should then be totaled up and written on the left hand margin and encircled.

4. If a question does not have parts, marks for it be awarded on the left hand side and encircled.

5. If a candidate has attempted an extra question, answer of the question deserving more marks should be retained and the other answer scored out.

6. The following Textbooks can be referred to for detailed answers. Page number of the concerned book is given on the right side of the answer of each question. Textbook I (TB-1) Fundamentals of Human Geography, published by NCERT. Textbook II (TB-2) India: People and Economy, published by NCERT.

7. A full scale of Marks 0-100 has to be used. Please do not hesitate to award fullmarks if the answer deserves it. Marks should not be deducted for bad handwriting and spelling mistakes.

Specific Instructions:

1. The Marking Scheme carries only suggested value points for the answers, these are only guidelines and do not constitute the complete answer. The students can have their own expression and if the expression is correct, the marks should be awarded accordingly.

2. As per orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the candidates would be permitted to obtain photocopy of the Answer Book on request on payment of the prescribed fee. All examiners/ Head Examiners are once again reminded that they must ensure that evaluation is carried out strictly as per value points per each answer as given in the Marking Scheme.

3. All the Head Examiner/ Examiners are instructed that while evaluating the answer scripts, if the answer is found to be totally incorrect then (x) should be marked on the incorrect answer and awarded '0'marks.

सामान्य निर्देशः मूल्यांकन करते समय कृपया निम्नलिखित निर्देशों के प्रति सावधानी बरतिए।

1. अंक योजना मूल्यांकन करने में व्यक्तिपरकता को कम करने हेतु सामान्य दिशा निर्देश प्रदान करती है। अंक योजना में दिए गए उत्तर सुझावात्मक और सांकेतिक हैं । यदि परीक्षार्थी अंक योजना में दिए गए उत्तरों से भिन्न उत्तर लिखता है, किन्तु उपयुक्त उत्तर दिए हैं तो उसे पूरे अंक दिए जाँए ।

2. अंक योजना में दिए गए निर्देशों के अनुसार ही मूल्यांकन किया जाए, मूल्यांकन कार्य अपनी निजी व्याख्या के अनुसार अथवा अन्य किसी सोच के आधार पर नहीं है । अंक योजना का यथावत पालन किया जाए और उसका उपयोग नियमित रूप से किया जाए ।

3. यदि किसी प्रश्न के उपभाग है तो ऐसे प्रश्न के उत्तर पर दाँई ओर अंक दिए जाएं । तद्नन्तर उपभागों के अंकों का योग बाँई ओर हाशिए पर लिखकर उसे गोलकृत किया जाए।

4. यदि प्रश्न का कोई उपभाग नहीं है तो उस पर अंक बाँई ओर ही दिए जाएं और उन्हें गोलकृत किया जाए ।

5. प्रत्येक उत्तर के साथ संदर्भ हेतु निर्धारित पाठयपुस्तकों की पृष्ठ संख्या दी गई है, ताकि आवश्यकतानुसार परीक्षक इन पृष्ठों का अध्ययन कर उत्तरों का मूलयांकन तथ्यपरक कर सकें ।

पाठयपुस्तक - 1. मानव भूगोल के मूल सिद्धान्त, एन.सी.आर.टी.

पुस्तक - 2. भारत लोग और अर्थव्यवस्था, एन.सी.आर.टी.

6. मूल्यांकन में सम्पूर्ण अंक पैमाने - 0 से 100 का प्रयोग अपेक्षित है । यदि परीक्षार्थी ने सही उत्तर दिया है तो उसे पूरे अंक देने में तनिक भी संकोच न करें ।

विशिष्ट निर्देश:

1. अंक योजना में उत्तरों के लिए केवल सुझावात्मक मूल्य बिन्दु दिए गए हैं । ये अपने में पूर्ण उत्तर नहीं हैं । विद्यार्थियों की अपनी अभिव्यक्ति सही है तो तद्नुसार अंक देने चाहिए ।

2. माननीय उच्चतम न्यायालय के आदेशानुसार परीक्षार्थी अपनी उत्तर पुस्तिकाओं की छाया प्रति प्रार्थना पर निर्धारित शुल्क के भुगतान पर प्राप्त कर सकेंगे । सभी मुख्य परीक्षकों/मुख्य परीक्षकों को एक बार पुनः स्मरण कराया जाता है कि वे सुनिश्चित करें कि मूल्यांकन करते समय प्रत्येक प्रश्न के उत्तर के लिए अंक योजना में दिए गए मूल्य बिन्दुओं का कड़ाई से परिपालन किया जाए।

3. सभी मुख्य परीक्षकों/परीक्षकों को निर्दिष्टित किया जाता है कि जब वे उत्तर-पुस्तिकाओं का मूल्यांकन कर रहे हों और किसी प्रश्न का उत्तर पूरी तरह गलत पाते हैं तो गलत उत्तर के लिए(×) अंकित करना चाहिए और 0 अंक (शून्य) दिया जाना चाहिए ।

सामान्य निर्देश:

1. कृपया प्रश्न के प्रत्येक भाग का परीक्षण ध्यानपूर्वक कीजिए तथा मूल्यांकन योजना में निश्चित किए गए अंक ही दीजिए । प्रत्येक प्रश्न में कुल प्राप्तांकों को बायीं ओर उत्तर के अन्त में एक गोले में अंकित कीजिए ।

2. मूल्यांकन योजना में दिए गए उत्तर केवल सुझावात्मक है। लिखित सामग्री केवल संकेतात्मक है। परीक्षार्थी अनेक प्रकार से उत्तर दे सकता है, लेकिन मूल्यांकन को मानकीकृत बनाने के लिए परामर्श दिया जाता है कि अपेक्षित सामग्री के आधार पर मूल्यांकन योजना का अनुसरण किया जाए । किसी अन्य प्रांसगिक और सही परिभाषा/बिन्दु/उत्तर के लिए भी परीक्षार्थियों को अंक दिए जा सकते हैं।

3. जहाँ कहीं प्रश्नों में निश्चित संख्या में उदाहरण/कारक /कारण/बिन्दु पूछे गए हैं वहां परीक्षार्थी द्वारा दिए गए उत्तर में से श्रेष्ठतम उत्तरो की निश्चित संख्या के लिए ही अंक दिए जाएं।

4. परीक्षकों द्वारा अंको में सुधार का प्रयास न किया जायें । परीक्षार्थी द्वारा प्राप्तांकों से परीक्षक का कोई सरोकार नहीं है।

5. कुछ प्रश्न उच्च कोटि की सोच से संबंधित हैं। इन प्रश्नों के उत्तरो का मूल्यांकन ध्यान से किया जाए ताकि परीक्षार्थियों की समझ व विश्लेषणात्मक योग्यता की सही जाँच की जा सके।

6. मुख्य परीक्षक द्वारा, प्रत्येक परीक्षक के द्वारा जाँची गई प्रथम पांच उत्तर पुस्तिकाओं का भलीभांति अवलोकन किया जाए और इस बात का ध्यान रखा जाए कि मूल्यांकन-योजना तथा दिए गए निर्देशों के अनुसार ही मूल्यांकन किया गया है। परीक्षकों को बाकी उत्तर पुस्तिकाएँ तभी दी जाए यदि उनके मूल्यांकन में अधिक अन्तर न पाया जाए ।

7. तीनों प्रश्न-पत्रों की अलग-अलग मूल्यांकन योजनाएं तैयार की गई हैं।
