UDAAN (A Programme To Give Wings To Girl Students)

To address the teaching gap between school education & engineering entrances and to enrich the teaching & learning of Science and Mathematics at School level, the CBSE has launched a project to provide free offline / online resources through virtual contact classes and study material on tablets, to girl students of Class XI and Class XII for preparation of admission test for the premier engineering colleges in the country.

The special focus of project Udaan is to address the low enrollment ratio of girl students in these prestigious institutions and to enable girl students to receive special incentives and support so that they can join these institutions and go on to take leadership roles in the future.

OBJECTIVES

To address the challenge of lower enrolment of girls in higher education institutes which is causing the socio- economic gap.
To enable girl students from disadvantaged section of the society to soar to higher levels of education.
To minimize the gap between curriculum intended, curriculum taught and curriculum learnt at senior secondary level.
To enrich and enhance teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics at senior secondary level.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Girl students enrolled in Class XI in PCM stream
Minimum 70% marks in Class X overall and 80% marks in Science and Mathematics; for Boards which follow CGPA, a minimum CGPA of 8 and a GPA of 9 in Science and Mathematics
The annual family income should be less than 6 lakhs per annum
Reservation as per JEE (Advanced)

OBC (NCL) - 27 % , SC – 15 % , ST – 7.5 % ,

PWD – 3 % of seats in every category.
