(ii) Questions no. 1 – 14 are of 2 marks each. The answers to these questions should not exceed 40 words each.
(iii) Questions no. 15 – 28 are of 3 marks each. The answers to these questions should not exceed 60 words each.
(iv) Questions no. 29 – 33 are of 6 marks each. The answers to these questions should not exceed 150 words each.

General Instructions :
(i) Answer all the questions. Some questions have internal choice. Marks are indicated against each question.
(ii) Answer to questions no. 1 to 3 carrying 2 marks should not exceed 30 words  each.
(iii) Answer to questions no. 4 to 9 carrying 4 marks should not exceed 100 words each.
(iv) Answer to questions no. 10 to 12 carrying 8 marks should not exceed 350 words  each.
(v) Questions no. 13 to 15 are source based questions.
(vi) Question no. 16 is a Map question that includes identification and location of  significant test items. Attach the map with the answer-book.

(i) There are 22 questions in all.
(ii) All questions are compulsory.
(iii) Question numbers 1 to 7 are very short answer questions carrying 1 mark each. Answer to each of these questions should not exceed 40 words.
(iv) Question numbers 8 to 13 are short answer questions carrying 3 marks each.  Answer to each of these questions should not exceed 80-100 words.
(v) Question numbers 14 to 20 are long answer questions carrying 5 marks each. Answer to each of these questions should not exceed 150 words.
(vi) Question numbers 21 and 22 are related to identification and locating and labelling  of geographical features on maps, carrying 5 marks each.
(vii) Outline maps of the World and India provided to you must be attached within your  answer-book.
(viii) Use of templates or stencils for drawing outline maps is allowed.

1 Define the term ‘literacy’. OR Define the term ‘Age Structure’.
2 Differentiate between ‘Growth’ and ‘Development’.
3. Write the meaning of ‘digital divide’.
4. Mention any two problems of barter system of trade.
