CBSE has seen 9.12% growth in Std X candidates
With 14.99 lakh students appearing for its Std X board exam, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has seen a 9.12% growth compared to last year. The Std XII students' growth was more muted at 2.65% with total 10.67 lakh set to appear. Board exams for both classes will start on March 1.
The Chennai region, under whose jurisdiction Nagpur schools come, had the third highest number of candidates appearing in Std X at 1.62 lakh. In Std XII however it becomes clear that CBSE is not the board of choice as only 56,948 will be appearing for the exam.
CBSE, a board that has been using technology more and more to ensure transparency and speed of delivery, has already completed its pre-exam procedures. All centre material have been dispatched to examination centers and admit cards have been downloaded by all schools. The board also said it has finalized the arrangement with the state machinery and local police to ensure trouble free examinations throughout the country.
Centre superintendents have been asked to approach the local police authorities for ensuring adequate force is made available at the place of custody of the question papers and the examination centres. The state law enforcing agencies have also been given the same request
