CBSE Class X Topper 2016: Anjalee Patel, Gujarat
Anjalee Patel is a student of Gurukrupa Vidyalaya at Ahmedabad's CTM area, but during her board examinations she was also a teacher to students of Class V, VI, VII and even X. Coming from an economically weak background, Anjalee started taking tuition classes for students to support her family financially.
The 18-year-old, the youngest in the house, juggled between the roles of being a sincere student and a dedicated teacher, and scored 99.71 per cent in the commerce stream. Anjalee's father, Mohanbhai Patel, is a private driver by profession. Her mother is a teacher in a private school. "I am able to make only Rs 6,000 a month. My wife and my elder daughter both work to help me manage the expenses of the house. Anjalee, my youngest daughter, also started taking tuition because she wanted to look after the expenses of her books and stationary on her own and not leave the burden on me," said Anjalee's father.
